Run for rural is an event that Rural Support Network hosts to raise money to send students on Placements at the end of the year to various rural hospitals around South Africa to volunteer their skills at these hospitals and to make a difference in the lives of those in rural communities.

We are hosting this event virtually on the 23rd of May. Entrants can buy tickets online from the 8th of May via RaceTraq.

PRICES

5km: adults R55, students- R44, children free

10km: adults R66, students- R55, Children free

The first 50 ticket holders will receive a sponsored Sign-up package. Sign up package can be collected from UCT FHS (Dates and times TBC)

The runners can run at any time, any place on the 23rd of May HOWEVER they would need to be registered with the running app, Strava, which records your run automatically and join our 5km Strava event or our 10km Strava event to be considered part of the race.

If you cannot access, register with Strava, there are other ways to record your times to be considered in the race (see below):

Other ways to record times:

Record your workout with your phone's Health app (eg Samsung Health) and send through your times.

Manually record your distance and time and send through where you ran, what times you started and ended your workout. (Email to: rsn.committee@gmail.com on the 23rd of May by 10 pm)

The Virtual Prize Giving event will be hosted online via MS teams on the 28th May at 5pm.

Prices include a 10% on-line entry fee.
